Stefana Farina

I’m Ștefana-Ana-Maria Farina , a romanian children’s book illustrator and visual storyteller based in Italy.

My work is shaped by early memories of childhood, especially the time spent in my grandparents’ home—spaces filled with stories, quiet moments, and a sense of imagination that continues to influence my visual language today.

I did not grow up loving reading. It was something I discovered later, and that shift became meaningful to me. It led me to want to create images that can gently invite children into stories, especially those who might not feel immediately drawn to books.

During high school, I developed a strong interest in storytelling through writing, taking part in literary contests and exploring narrative from a different perspective. This experience continues to inform my approach to illustration, where storytelling remains central.

Before pursuing illustration, I followed a path in law. Over time, I chose to move towards a more creative direction, focusing on children’s book illustration as a way to combine narrative and visual expression.

Today, my work focuses on creating soft, atmospheric, and narrative-driven illustrations for children’s publishing, alongside editorial projects and motion.
